The Betting Gaming and Lotteries Commission (BGLC) as part of its mandate to regulate the gaming industry gives back to social development. A key initiative is to provide tuition fee assistance for undergraduate tertiary students enrolled as full-time students at any accredited tertiary institution in Jamaica. Our team designed their website and implemented an AI application filtering and processing system for over 15,000 applications received to the BGLC Education Fund grants awarded each year. Continuous improvement has led to AI handling the applications, evaluation and selection of the awardees resulting in substantial efficiencies for the Commission’s team. In 2023 we added an AI detection filter allowing the BGLC to spot and evalute the extent to which AI has been used in the applications.
